Bamboo decking is made from strips of bamboo compressed under high pressure.
These undergo a treatment process at different temperatures - 160ºC (Caramel) and 220ºC (Coffee) - which modifies the sugar molecules that are naturally present in untreated bamboo. With this treatment, the bamboo is no longer a food source for fungi and micro-organisms. In addition, this process increases the density, making the bamboo planks very hard. The stability of this material ensures excellent durability.
Bamboo is suitable for outdoor applications, especially decking.
